One of the reasons for the Stone Town Gazette (formerly Stanton Stats) was to generate interest in family reunions. We held 6 over the years from 1993 to about 2007. Every second year was too often for a Canada wide event. Attendance waned by the last one and organizers tired out. But the events were very successful, a lot of fun and worth the work.

2007: Summer, Community Centre, Elgin, Ontario, Canada.

2005: July 22 – 24, 2005, Treherne, Manitoba, Canada. The 125th anniversary of Stanton Family in Treherne, MB.

2002:  July 13-15, 2002, Hazel Bluff Hall 8.5 km west of Westlock, Alberta, Canada. Attendance 114.

1997:  July 11-13, 1997, Hazelridge Hall, Westlock, Alberta, Canada. Attended by almost 200. Stanton family members had been among the founders of the little church near the hall, known as Hazelridge Church. Some Stanton’s are buried in the Hazelridge Cemetery.

1995: July 21 – 23, 1995, Lions Hall, Elgin, Ontario, Canada. Attended by 145 participants from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and the US.134 people came for the supper on Saturday night. Susanne Stanton Rivard compiled a poplular Stanton Family Cookbook as a reunion fundraiser.
